The last outcome of the MESIS project to implement the Outsport method

Our latest e-learning experience is here! The Outsport Coach course focuses on fostering safer spaces while tackling SOGIESC discrimination and driving sustainable social change in and through sport.

Building on the MESIS Capacity Building sessions and the success of the Outsport project, endorsed by the EU Commission and the World Health Organisation, this e-learning course is inspired by the Council of Europe’s Compass Manual and aims to develop key competences in non-formal Human Rights Education.

Gain essential skills to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusive communities through sport and prevent any form of discrimination! 

You will implement the Outsport method and use pedagogical tools within the “Education Through Sport” (ETS) framework.

  • 8 lessons, complete with videos, graphs, and quizzes;
  • 11 educational tools, ready to be used and adapted to different settings;
  • a collection of tips, resources, and materials;
  • a detailed final certificate.

This is the first version is in English. Versions in other languages will be available soon.

 

Learning objectives: 

  • Becoming aware of what discrimination is, how it works and how to tackle it.
  • Empowering learners to confidently address SOGIESC based discrimination.
  • Mastering the Outsport Competence Framework based on the core values of Dignity, Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Community Building.
  • Understanding how to create more inclusive sporting environments, learning communities and team-working spaces.
  • Building confidence and ability to propose a set of exercises for the final target groups – whether youth, students, athletes or work teams

This e-learning course is part of the Erasmus+ project MESISMissing Pieces for Educators and Local Stakeholders Addressing Inclusive Sport. As part of this initiative, the course is designed to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion through sport.

Our goal is to develop your skills in delivering the proposed educational tools and help you acquire specific pedagogical tools and competences within the broader “Education Through Sport” (ETS) methodology.

This course marks an important milestone of our project and is part of a broader training journey. We await you in our E-Learning Community on Telegram to share experiences with other Outsport coaches and stay up to date! As project partners, we are actively working to create new training opportunities to help you put into practice what you’ve learned in this course.
